Did you know that the most frequently cited violation is in the electrical category? IT'S TRUE:
According to a study done by OSHA 20% of all cited violations are electrical. That's a problem considering that according to a separate study done by OSHA, “Electrical” or “Shock” constitutes 17% of all deaths on the jobsite.
Did you know that the category “Fall: from elevation” constitutes 33% of all fatalities on the jobsite? IT'S TRUE:
Approximately 40 percent of fatalities due to falls from elevation involved falls from elevation of greater than 30 feet. Twenty-five percent of the fatalities occurred from falls from elevation between 11 and 20 feet and a similar percentage from 21 to 30 thirty feet.
Twenty-six percent of the fatalities due to falls from elevation were falls from a roof. Nineteen percent were from scaffolding. The other percentages are lower and dispersed through: open sided floors, steel erection, concrete erection, aerial lift/basket, suspended platforms, vehicles, ladders and floor openings.
